I had an early interest in fashion and design. In fact it was my mother who taught me as a little girl how to sew. When she made clothes, I spent many happy hours helping her. When I grew up, the joy of making things stayed with me.
What started out as a hobby, became an increasingly important part of my life. With always an eye for detail and a love of materials and textures, I put together several eco-friendly clothing collections and it was while creating accessories for these that I made a natural progression toward making my own jewellery.
I launched my first collection (Dragonfly Collection) May 2009. I’m self taught and believe that this has been a strong element in how my work has developed; being responsible for it’s unique character and individuality.
I take the old, discarded and transform them into wearable art pieces. Semi-precious stones are set and strung on re-used copper. Old leather coats and skirts are turned into cuffs.
My hope is that more people will choose this over conventional choices and help the environment.
